STEELE, Charles Richard “Rick” – Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24^th at home with his loving family by his side.  Rick will be deeply missed by his loving wife Bonnie.  Cherished father of Shawna Lee and Kyle Alexander.  Loving son of Rita Steele (nee Millette) and the late Frank Steele.  Deeply missed by his siblings Francine (Doug), John (Shirley) and Barbara (Andrew).  As per Rick’s request there will be no service.  Rick will be a missed presence in the online gaming community, a strong warrior to the end, saving the world at every opportunity.

Madeleine Major (née Piché)

1928-2015

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 4, at the age of 86. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Alain, her sister Cécile and her brothers Bruno and René. Loving mother of Louise (Alain Desrochers), Nicole (Gilles Couturier), Guy (Lynne Gauthier-Major) and Joanne (Damien Morin).​ She was the cherished grandmother of: François, Mathieu, Nicolas, Maxime, Marc-André, Guillaume, Amélie, Samuel and Luc. The family would like to thank the countless friends and family for all of their support and love over the years. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Centre d'accueil Champlain of Ottawa for their compassionate care of Madeleine. A Celebration of Madeleine's life will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 11:00​ a.m.at the St-Jean Baptiste Church in Verner, ON. The family will be present to receive condolences at 10:30am and would like to welcome everyone to the Reception hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Auxilliaires du Centre d'accueil Champlain of Ottawa or to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Décédée paisiblement entourée de sa famille​ le 4 ​avril​ 2015, à l’âge de 86​ ans. Elle fut prédécédée par son époux bien-aimé Alain Major ainsi que par ses frère Bruno et René et sa sœur Cécile. ​Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: ​Louise (Alain Desrochers), Nicole (Gilles Couturier), Guy (Lynne Gauthier-Major) et Joanne (Damien Morin).​ Elle fut la grand-mère adorée de 9 petits-enfants: François, Mathieu, Nicolas, Maxime, Marc-André, Guillaume, Amélie, Samuel et Luc. La célébration de la vie de Madeleine aura lieu à l'Église St-Jean Baptiste de Verner, ON, samedi le 9​ mai 2015 à 11h00. La famille recevra les condoléances à l'église à compter de 10h30.​ La famille désire remercier le personnel du Centre d’accueil Champlain pour les bons soins prodigués à leur mère pendant toutes ces années.​ Vos marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire en un don aux Auxiliaires du Centre d'accueil Champlain d’Ottawa ou à la Société Alzheimer​.

Thomas James Hughes

1949-2015

Thomas, daddy, butch, Jim, James, Papa; whatever you called him there was love and respect behind it. He was a soft soul hidden behind a tough exterior. He had a good heart and for those he loved he would move the moon and stars just to make you smile. He never demanded anything but something about him commanded respect. He was an honest and hard worker who lived for his family. He leaves behind a wife; a gorgeous human being inside and out that he loved more than there are words in any vocabulary.  Three children; those time and space may separate they all stayed close in the heart.  He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; some he’s never met and some he knows all too well, but regardless of knowing them or not he loved them with a great passion. He also leaves behind four siblings who he would share great stories about until the early morning hours. There is extended family, friends, co-workers and the like that he would have loved to have had a few drinks with and catching up on old times. No matter near, far, distance of time he always would light up and jump right into the conversation like you had never been apart. Now he is joined with his mother and father, daughter and grandson; people he’s longed to visit. He’s smiling, causing a tiny bit of trouble and passing time until we can all meet like old times.

Always on our minds, forever in our hearts.
