Obituary:
HONEY, David George - Passed away, finally succumbing to his 8 year battle with Alzheimer's on Wednesday February 25th at the age of 84. Predeceased by his loving wife Tobia and his parents John and Elizabeth (nee Metherall) Honey. Will be deeply missed by his son Michael (Rosemary) and three grandchildren Alyssa, Megan and Cassandra. Survived by his brother Alex. David's son Michael remembers his dad as, without a doubt the kindest, most generous and intelligent man he has ever known. "Dad, you're still the only person I've ever met who has read the entire Oxford English Dictionary cover to cover!" Athlete, scholar, role model, loving father and Opa extraordinaire; you are loved and you will be missed. "Ne illegitimi carborundum". The family would like to thank Dr. Bajaj and the nursing staff at Extendicare Medex Facility on Baseline for all of their care and compassion over the years. Friends will be received at First Memorial Funeral Services – Fairview Chapel – 259 St. Patrick St. Ottawa on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 from 1-3pm. Interment at a later date at Pinecrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
