Obituary:

PROULX, Richard - Passed away surrounded by family on April 29, 2013 at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Survived by his loving wife Diane (nee Chartrand) and his two sons Dan (Claudette Lacasse) and Randy (Patricia Johnston).   Cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Sophie, Paige, Chloe, Noah and Addison.  Survived by his sister Odette (Richard MacKenzie) and pre-deceased by his sister Raymonde (Guy Cousineau).  A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes (435 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON) at 9:30 a.m.  Friends and family may pay their respects at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A reception will follow in the church hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Online condolences can be made at www.firstmemorialfuneral.com.

DUBROFSKY, Reuben -  Passed away at age 85 after a lengthy illness.  Husband of the late Edith Brozovsky.  Long time partner of Betty Krepski.  Father of Lisa, Sydney and Ruth.  Brother of Molly, and the late Harry and Sylvia.  Grandfather of Elan, Joel, Rachelle, Jared, Kalyna and Alanna.  Ex father-in-law of Deane Shildkraut and Elizabeth Petigorsky.  Special Uncle to Suzanne and Nat Tepper of Toronto.  A very special recognition goes to Deana.  deana was always there.  She continuously gave herself, helping him throughout the duration of his illness.  many thanks to the staff of Hillel Lodge and to his caregivers Bindu and Nelia.  Graveside service to be held at the Jewish memorial Gardens Bank Street Cemetery, 2692 Highway 31, Ottawa, Machzikei Hadas section, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 24th, 2013.  Donations to Hillel Lodge would be appreciated.

Obituary:

Patricia Crépin (née Bastien) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2013,  at the young age of 92.  Predeceased by her father and mother, Ernest and Delina Bastien (née Joanisse)  and her loving husband Arthur “Red” Crépin.  Devoted mother of Adrienne “Audrey” Charlebois (Denny),  Jacqueline Crépin (Ken Beatty) and Raymond Crépin (Sylvie).  She is also survived by her loving brother Fern and predeceased by her brothers Roger and Laurence Bastien.  Forever loved and deeply cherished by her 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the very caring and loving staff of the Township of Osgoode Care Centre. The family will be receiving friends and family at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church (435, Montréal Road, Ottawa) on Friday, April 26, at 10:00 am.  A Celebration of Patricia`s life will take place at 10:30 followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery.    In lieu of flowers, donations to the Township of Osgoode Care Centre Fundraising Committee would be appreciated.

Obituary:

McGEE, Janet Anne - Janet passed away at 10:20pm on Friday, April 12. She was 58 and in great health. She had a tragic fall and hit her head on the front walkway of her house while on her front porch on Cathcart Street a week ago. She was not able to recover from the head injury. She lived a decent life. She raised two boys as a single mother. She worked 35 years for the federal government. She loved and was loved. She went on many travel adventures in her life. She enjoyed gardening, her cats, decorating and was proud of her two boys. She's going to be missed very much.  Janet is leaving behind two sons, Marc and Steven Aubin, ex husband Gilles Aubin, Sisters Debbie McGee (Gilles Bisaillon) and Brenda McGee Blais (Dave), Brother Wayne McGee, Goddaughter and niece Jennifer Webster Rego (Jason), and nieces Vanessa and Allison Blais.  Visitation (Wake) is at the First Memorial Funeral Services - Fairview Chapel, 259 St. Patrick St., on Thursday, April 18 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame Basilica at 10am Friday, April 19.

PRITCHARD, Albert - After a brave battle with cancer passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2013 surrounded by those who loved him. Married 47 years to his beloved wife and best friend, Susane.  Loving father of Sandra (Gerry), Lloyd, and Shawn (Marcy).  Brother of Fred (Rolly), Christine (Dave) and Kathe (Michael). He will be missed by his 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Arthur, his mother Evelyn and his younger brother Bruce.  He was a quiet man who loved going to the casino and horse races with his loving wife at his side. Albert had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. A joke on you became a smile on his face.  He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.  Special thanks to Dr. N. ST.JEAN (nee Jeckells), Poppy - It is with much sadness yet so many wondrous memories that we announce the passing of Poppy St. Jean on March 13th, 2013 in her 89th year.  Born in Reedham, England, October 2nd, 1923,  Poppy emigrated to Canada in the fall of 1946.  Dearly loved mother and friend, she inspired all she met with her quick wit and clever conversation.   Her zest for life and sparkling eyes will be fondly remembered and held in our hearts. Predeceased by her husband,  Joseph Edmour, and sister Mavis Oldfield.  Poppy is survived by her sister, Sheila, son, Terry, and grandchildren, Cypress, Arlen, Caleb, and great grandson Evan.  She will be fondly remembered by nieces Laurie Furneaux, Cheryl Stewart, Helen Bulina, Lillian Poupour, and nephews David Stewart and Ernie Poupour.  Poppy faced her final battle with cancer head on with great courage and strength.  The family wishes to offer their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Champlain Community Care Access Centre who eased Poppy’s passing with their kindness and attention.  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at First Memorial Funeral Services, 259 St.Patrick Street between Cumberland and Dalhousie from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, March 18th.  We welcome you to come and celebrate the life of our dearest Poppy.  In memoriam, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

CARDINAL, Gisèle (née Laviolette) 1935-2013
After a short battle with lung cancer, Gisèle passed away on Sunday, March 3^rd, 2013 at the age of 77 at Elisabeth Bruyère in Ottawa. She will be truly missed by her only child, Louise (Ron) and only living sister, Simone Desabrais. My mom has gone to heaven to be reunited with 12 of her siblings, her parents and many friends. She will be missed by many close friends including Rita D’Aoust (Jack) who lived in the same building and checked up on her every single day around 8:30am. A heart felt thank you to the staff at Elisabeth Bruyère Palliative Care for their warmth, care and compassion – and to my dearest friends Suzanne Cadieux and Sam McDargh for being the strength that carried me threw the last few months. Funeral Service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Home at 259 St. Patrick Street (corner of Dalhousie) on March 13, 2013 at 11:00am. The family will receive condolences at the funeral home from 10:30am. Service will be presided by Rev. Sam McDargh followed by a reception at the funeral home. Close friends and family are invited to attend the Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, 455 Montreal Road which will begin at 2:30PM.
